Shane Carwin should have faced Brock Lesnar for the heavyweight championship last year but was rescheduled to January 2010 due to Lesnar's career threatening illness. Carwin vs. Mir ended up facing each other after Lesnar was diagnosed with some stomach illness.
Shane Carwin has and undefeated record of 11-0 and all of his bouts ended in the first round. Frank MIr is looking for another fight for Brock as this will serve as the number one contender for the UFC Heavyweight Championship. Winner also gets the make-believe interim heavyweight championship belt.
